The Food Gatherer is delighted to be working with Enfield Council to provide an exciting new business group for Enfield's food businesses, The Enfield Food Forum.
The Forum will meet throughout the year, to provide local food enterprises with an opportunity to connect, learn and be inspired by each other. We’ll also invite expert guests who’ll share their knowledge and advice, through talks and workshops. We hope to find new ways of supporting enterprise and maybe even collaborate to set up new ones!
We also have plans to compile online resources to signpost and connect business members, but before we do that, we want to hear from you and find out what you want from the Forum. This is a working group for us all to contribute and share ideas so we hope you’ll get involved.
The Forum is funded by Enfield Council who are working hard to develop a sustainable food strategy for the Borough and are keen to hear how they can best support local food businesses.

Who can join the Enfield Food Forum?
Any food business in Enfield can sign up to the Forum, but our focus is on SME's, ranging from small producers and growers to street food traders, caterers, cafe and restaurant owners, independent retailers and start ups. Membership is free for 2018.
THE launch event
Our first meeting in October 2018 coincided with Urban Food Fortnight and was an opportunity for local businesses to connect, to think about what we would want from the Forum and consider how we might work together to solve some of the business challenges we encounter .
We heard from some inspiring guest speakers who are doing their bit to put Enfield on the food map and contribute a more sustainable circular food economy: Paul Everitt - Head of Arts and Culture, Enfield Council, Ben Murphy - Development chef - EN_FOOD - Enfield Civic Centre Restaurant and Margherita Sweetlove - senior strategist on sustainability in Enfield Council and Kate Smith - Owner of Holtwhites Bakery
It was also a celebration of Enfield’s diverse food culture, and we were lucky to be able to tuck into delicious foods from EN_FOOD, who are the first civic centre cafe to be awarded a 3 star sustainable restaurant award inthe UK. They served up delicious bites made with local produce from Forty Hall Farm and Holtwhites Bakery, Peatchey Butchers and Kupros Dairy and it was washed down with a glass of Forty Hall Vineayrd’s wine
NEXT MEETING 15th JANUARY 2019 6.30pm - booking information to follow soon. Please register your interest in the form below left.
